Random shots...

Uncle Phil checking out the view from one of the available lots. This was a good one!

Looking up at our accommodation from the road below!

The Paperbark false thorn tree is a large deciduous tree that grows up to 15 metres tall. Flowers from August to November and fruits from September to December. Found in two areas of South Africa, in the Waterberg and the north east of the Limpopo Province. A protected tree in South Africa. The Paperbark false-thorn tree grows on rocky slopes. The leaves are browsed by Impala, and Kudu.

It was the beginning of winter in South Africa and, unlike Sudan at the moment, the temperature dropped considerably in the evening so the fire was welcome. Let me also mention that there wasn't the slightest light pollution so we saw all the stars imaginable and the Milky Way. The area is so remote that there is almost constant, absolute silence.

Busy preparing breakfast on Sunday morning before packing up for the drive back to the city and my midnight flight back to Khartoum. South Africa would be worth another trip!
