Somewhere in the vicinity of Nyala, Darfur. The desert is greener during/after rainy season.
Where the Blue Nile and the White Nile meet in Khartoum.
I think the contrast between the left and right sides of this road outside Khartoum is interesting!
Not sure I would look forward to a drive on this road through the desert. 
From the air these residential compounds look like connecting boxes.
