Birding around TBBC

A colleague of mine convinced me to take a break from all the work I had been doing during the retreat to go on a birding expedition one morning at 6am! So, let me just start by saying that none of these photos have anything to do with birds, but we did see 12 different species which our guide listed for us at the end of the walk.
Along the way our guide explained about the process of collecting palm oil. Can you see the notches in the side of this tree trunk? The notches are used to climb the tree.

Not sure if you can see the plastic container in the center of this photo, but it is placed there to collect palm oil.

Mango forest on the right...

The roots & sprouts around the mango trees were explained as being a natural defense against excess water. Fascinating...

More roots and sprouts...
