My arrival in Khartoum, Sudan, couldn't have gone any smoother. My flight from Frankfurt actually arrived early, I breezed through Passport Control, both of my bags arrived with me, and I walked out of the airport without the slightest scrutiny by security.
I had to wait 5 or 10 minutes for my ride to show up, but it was nice to stand in the warm, dry sun for a few minutes. The airport was clean and not the least bit chaotic (I'm comparing it to Islamabad, Pakistan!). The city makes a nice first impression. They drive on the correct side of the road, yeah!
My apartment is nice and air conditioned (yeah!). A co-worker & friend, Joanna, is here with me which is a HUGE blessing. We went through orientation in Boone, NC, together in February and got along great.
I'm tired after almost 24 hours of travel and just a little sleep...time for bed.

Donna,
I'm glad you made it safely. We are praying for you! Try to get a lot of rest before your work starts!
